Chandra X-ray Observatory

The observatory that sees the X-ray sky: black holes, and gas at millions of degrees.

The actual model file, as it will be printed. Drag to turn it.

X-rays do not pass through the atmosphere, so this work can only be done from orbit. Chandra launched in 1999 and images the hottest and most violent things there are.

Published by NASA in their 3D Resources collection, which they state is free of copyright. Printed to order — scaled to about 80 mm on its longest side, and resizeable on the next page.
